With Windows 10, Version 1903 Task Manager can set a default Task Manager tab whenever users open task manager; it will directly navigate to the default tab later you can switch between tabs. This post will guide you on setting the default Task Manager tab you prefer for your account in Windows 10.
Set Default Tab for Task Manager in Windows 10
- Open Task Manager.
Note – You will start the task manager, the Processes tab open by default.

- Click on Options > Set default tab and then select the default tab of your choice.

- Close Task Manager. The next time you open Task Manager, it will open with that tab which you had setup.
Set Default Tab for Task Manager Using Registry
- Click Start, type regedit. Then, select Registry Editor.
- Navigate to following registry path –
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TaskManager
- In the right pane of TaskManager, locate the key StartUpTab. Double click on key to edit it. Now type preferred Value data and to save changes, click OK.
Important – We recommend you create a backup before editing the registry.

- Modify the DWORD value set its value to one of the following values mentioned:
