Microsoft Photos App Improved with Viewer and Import Enhancements

Exciting News for Windows users! Viewer and Import Enhancements have improved the Microsoft Photos App for Windows 11. To improve users’ experience in the Photos app, Microsoft is beginning to roll out some new features.

Microsoft is bringing these new features to the Photos app via Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev Channels. Viewer and Import Enhancements in the Photos app will definitely improve users’ experience and increase performance.

As you know, the Windows Photos app is a built-in application for Windows operating systems that allows users to view, organize, edit, and share their photos and videos. We all are regular users of this app, and more improvements are the regular needs of the Users.

Based on user feedback, Microsoft decided to add Viewer and Import Enhancements to the Photos App for Windows 11. Upgrade your app to version 2024.11060.20004.0 or higher to get these new features. In this blog post, I will explain the new features of the Photos App for Windows 11.

Microsoft Photos App Improved with Viewer and Import Enhancements

The new Update of the Windows Photos App includes Viewer & Import Enhancements and various new enhancements, and the following table shows the highlights.

1. Easy Access to Key Photos Actions

The new update allows some of the Photos App’s actions to be easily accessed. Important actions such as Start slideshow and Share are now available right on the main viewing screen instead of hidden inside the overflow menu.

2. Dedicated Section for Microsoft Apps

With this update Microsoft grouped all the Microsoft apps shortcuts together. It helps users quickly and easily navigate to the full photo gallery from the viewer, open in Clipchamp or in OneDrive.

3. Dynamic Zoom Slider

Microsoft Introduced a slider that lets you view your images anywhere from 10% to 800% of their original size. This easy-to-use draggable slider helps users make desired image sizes and provides precise adjustments for a better photo viewing experience.

4. Photo Metadata Information

Users can easily view the size and dimensions of your photos. Now it is displayed at the the screen’s lower edge, fulfilling a feature many users have requested.

5. Device Import Options

This feature allows users to choose and manage when to begin transferring photos and videos from local devices at their convenience. These features will be for users in version 2024.11060.20004.0 or higher. You can upgrade to this version to explore new enhancements of the Windows Photos App.

5. Viewer Performance

This release also includes our new multi-process performance lifts, which improve viewer load time by 2.1 times. Overall, users’ experience will be improved, and they can increase productivity.
