This also brings improved filtering and sorting options for member and owner lists, making it simpler to manage large groups and locate specific users. Additionally, Microsoft has enhanced the accuracy of group member counts, particularly for large Microsoft Entra groups, providing administrators with more reliable information when managing policy assignments, application deployments, and compliance groups.
- Sign in to the Microsoft Intune admin center
- Select Groups > All groups.

Total Number of Groups
The updated interface enhances the group management experience by displaying the total number of matching groups (for example, 193 groups found) directly below the search box, giving administrators immediate visibility into their search results.

Group Search and Sorting
The Group in the Microsoft Intune admin center includes an Add filter option that helps administrators narrow down group search results based on specific attributes. As shown in the image, selecting Add filter opens a filter pane where you can choose criteria such as Membership type, Group type, Source, Security enabled, Role assignable, Administrative unit, Teams enabled, and Writeback enabled.

Sort the Groups List by Name
The All groups page in the Microsoft Intune admin center allows you to sort the groups list alphabetically by group name. Click the arrow next to the Name column heading to sort the list in ascending (A–Z) or descending (Z–A) order.

Select the Group from the Intune Admin Center
In the Microsoft Intune admin center, navigate to Groups > All groups to view all available Microsoft Entra groups that can be used with Intune. From the All groups list, select the required group by checking the box next to its name.

View the Group Overview and Basic Information
After selecting a group from the All groups page in the Microsoft Intune admin center, the Overview page opens and displays the group’s Basic information. This section provides key details such as the group name, membership type (Assigned or Dynamic), source (Cloud or On-premises), and group type (Security or Microsoft 365).

Review the Group Membership Summary
The Overview page in the Microsoft Intune admin center provides a quick summary of the selected group’s membership. The Total direct members section displays the total number of members and categorizes them into Users, Groups, Devices, and Others. This overview helps administrators quickly verify the group’s membership composition and determine whether the correct users or devices have been added before assigning Intune policies, applications, configuration profiles, or compliance settings.

View Group Members
Select Members from the left navigation pane to view all members of the selected group. The Direct members tab displays users, devices, or groups that have been added directly, while the All members tab includes both direct and inherited members. You can use the Search box or Add filter option to locate specific members quickly.

Filter Group Members
The Members page in the Microsoft Intune admin center includes an Add filter option that helps administrators quickly narrow down the list of group members. Select Add filter, choose a filter type (such as User type), specify the desired value, and click Apply to display only the matching members.
