Let’s learn how to add or remove Windows 11 Widgets button on the taskbar. Starting with Windows 11 insider release, Microsoft added the Widgets button to the taskbar by default. Widgets bring you closer to the information you want. It connects you to your calendar, weather, local traffic, Microsoft To-Do lists, photos from OneDrive, sports, stock watchlist, and tips.

Widgets appear on the left side of the desktop. You can personalize your experience by adding or removing widgets, re-arranging, resizing, and customizing the content. Just click on the widget’s icon on the Taskbar, swipe from the left using touch, or hit WIN + W on your keyboard, and your widgets slide out from the leftover desktop.
This Widgets panel is similar to Windows 10 News & Interests taskbar flyout. The only thing we noticed It won’t display weather update information without clicking on it from the taskbar.
You also might experience the Widgets board appear empty. To work around the issue, you can sign out and then sign back in again.

Remove Widgets Button on Taskbar from Taskbar
Right-click on the Widgets icon on the taskbar.
Select the Unpin from taskbar option to remove the Widgets button. Once you are done, You will notice Widgets button removed from the taskbar.

Add or Remove Widgets Button on Taskbar from Settings
In Windows 11 device, Click on Start button, and then select Settings.
Click on Personalization > Taskbar.

Under Taskbar items, By default, Widgets button is set to Turn On on the right side. To Turn off the Show Widgets button toggle switch to remove the Widgets button that appears on the taskbar.
