Let’s see how can you change Windows 10 Primary user (Change Primary User for Windows devices) from the Intune portal. First of all enrolled users as showed in the below picture is not always the primary users.
NOTE! – Also, Intune primary user change shall help you to change the OWNER of the device in Azure AD.
Enrolled User
You can check the enrolled user from Intune Portal – Devices | All devices node.

Primary User
You can check the primary user of a device from the Device overview page within the Intune portal.
- Intune portal – https://devicemanagement.microsoft.com/
- Navigate through Devices – All Devices
- Click any of the Device (NOT co-managed one)
- Click on the OVERVIEW tab to check the primary user

Change Primary User | Intune
You can now change the primary user of Windows 10 Intune managed devices. Let’s follow the steps mentioned below to complete the primary user change.
NOTE! – The change of primary user is NOT allowed for SCCM and Intune co-managed devices.
- Intune portal – https://devicemanagement.microsoft.com/
- Navigate through Devices – All Devices
- Click any of the Device (NOT co-managed one)
- Click on the PROPERTIES tab
- On the Right Side, there are two options
- Change primary user
- Remove Primary User
- Click on Change Primary User button

- Search for the NEW primary user from the SEARCH menu
- Select a Primary User
- Click on Select button

- Click on SAVE button to complete the Primary User change activity

Results
So the primary user change is completed to a new primary user in Intune.

- The primary user change in the Intune portal will automatically change the OWNER of the device in Azure AD as well.
